Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Optical Transceiver Design Engineer to join our team at Coherent Corp. This role will lead the design and development of high-speed optical transceivers, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of optical transceivers, including hardware and PCBA design, electrical and optical measurements, and specification compliance reports.
  • Conduct RF simulation of high-speed signal communication links and lead the integration of optical, hardware, and firmware components.
  • Collaborate with program managers, buyers, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of designed parts for build.
  • Support the resolution of DFM issues and hold architectural, EVT, and DVT phase reviews.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and ECOs.
Requirements
  • B.S. EE degree with 7 years of experience or M.S. EE degree with 5 years of experience required.
  • Strong analog circuit design skills, circuit theory, linear system theory, feedback, ICs, and high-speed RF fundamentals required.
  • Strong laboratory measurement skills and communication and presentation skills required.
  • Experience with high-density multiple-layer board design cycles and electronics CAD tools and electronic system modeling a plus.
  • Expertise in RF design using modeling tools such as CST or HFSS and understanding of microprocessors and real-time control firmware a plus.
