The role of the Value Engineer at Esker is a pivotal position that merges the skills of Value Engineering with Strategy Consulting. We are seeking a talented individual who will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing a customer value initiative at Esker.

In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with our Sales, Presales, Customer Experience, and Marketing teams to ensure effective engagement with both customers and potential clients. This position will serve as a strategic asset, significantly impacting Esker's sales by guiding both prospective and existing customers in understanding and maximizing the value derived from their investments in Esker's solutions, particularly focusing on procurement and other Source to Pay services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation of internal ROI tools that facilitate discussions with prospects to quantify, establish, and validate the value of Esker solutions while re-engaging current clients in value realization.
  • Work alongside the sales team to investigate accounts and prepare for discussions with finance, procurement, and executive-level stakeholders regarding the potential benefits Esker can deliver.
  • Regularly review industry reports, trends, and benchmarking data to stay informed of new best practices; enhance internal tools and adapt business cases accordingly.
  • Conduct workshops to thoroughly understand client processes and challenges, recommending comprehensive business process enhancements and emphasizing technology-driven solutions provided by Esker.
  • Improve the effectiveness of the sales team by coaching and training them on ROI tools and facilitating procurement-related financial discussions with clients.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to identify cross-selling opportunities by assessing the value of other Esker solutions within the complete Source to Pay suite.
  • Partner with Customer Experience, Marketing, and Product Management to evaluate existing metrics that may influence the sales process.
  • Engage with Corporate Marketing and Product Managers to provide insights on market-driven enhancements and messaging related to Procurement.
Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in business, data analytics, finance, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Essential Experience:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales management, sales engineering, procurement, finance, or consulting.
  • Experience in selling, utilizing, or implementing procurement automation solutions is essential; familiarity with other Source to Pay software and professional services is preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and scaling a value program within a high-growth organization.
  • Experience in creating ROI tools for (pre) sales teams.
Competencies:
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to mentor and influence others.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including experience with large data sets, spreadsheets, dashboards, and complex formulas.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
Compensation:

$130,000 - $185,000 + Incentive
