Job Summary

As a key member of the Marriott team, the Lead Architect will be responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the building, grounds, and physical plant are maintained to the highest standards. This includes managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and leading the emergency response team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage property operations and engineering budgets, supervising engineering staff and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Establish and manage an effective rooms maintenance program, ensuring optimal effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Manage departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals, selecting and ordering new equipment, supplies, and furnishings as needed.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required, recommending or arranging for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and equipment replacement.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of engineering, maintaining accurate logs and records as required.
  • Assist in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, handling guest problems and complaints effectively, and empowering employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Help establish priorities for total property maintenance needs, ensuring ongoing communication occurs in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives, expectations, and recognition of exemplary performance.
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognize the contributions of team members, establishing and maintaining open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Ensure employees are treated fairly and equitably, striving to improve service performance, and providing feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors.
  • Supervise employee's ability to execute departmental and property emergency procedures, reviewing employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Solicit employee feedback, helping ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards, and ensuring disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
