Associate Director for Facilities Information Technology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director for Facilities Information Technology to join our team at the University of Texas at Dallas. This is a key leadership role that will oversee the management of information technology in Facilities Management, ensuring the smooth operation of various systems and services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain multiple software systems, including work management, timekeeping, key database, energy metering, and mobile device management.
- Install, configure, and maintain department servers and application systems.
- Coordinate the setup, configuration, and repair of computers, mobile devices, printers, time clocks, and associated devices.
- Provide complex technical support to department staff for computer hardware and software issues.
- Conduct research and interact with technology vendors to resolve problems and evaluate technical products for use in Facilities Management.
- Advise and recommend purchasing of software and hardware for department use.
- Lead technical projects and upgrades, and manage and train technology support staff.
- Collaborate with OIT departments to monitor and coordinate system security, performance, policies, and upgrades of databases and applications.
- Oversee management of user accounts in Aim work order system, Powerlogic, Attendance, and Key database system, and manage user access to resources in Active Directory.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of related professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management, or related field (preferred).
- Microsoft Windows Server Administrator certification or Azure equivalent (preferred).
- 5 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
- 4 years of project management experience (preferred).
- 7 years of experience with setup and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Servers, Hyper-V, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Databases (preferred).
- 7 years of experience providing Windows 7-11 technical support (preferred).
- 5 years of experience leading projects involving multiple departments (preferred).
- 7 years of experience installing, configuring, and repairing computers, printers, and networked equipment in an Active Directory network environment (preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AiM - Computerized Maintenance Management System, Building Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, and PL/T-SQL scripting (preferred).
- Troubleshooting methodology with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, leadership skills, promoting teamwork, and collaborating.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices around security, performance, and availability.
- Strategic planning and assessment of technology needs.
- Ability to research and provide options for purchasing equipment and licenses.
