Director of Virtual Design and Construction

Our client, a leading Commercial General Contractor, is seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead the development and implementation of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) strategies company-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute VDC strategies to enhance project delivery and efficiency
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate VDC into all phases of construction
  • Assist in the pursuit and delivery of design-build projects
  • Oversee the adoption and utilization of design technologies
  • Establish and maintain company-wide standards for VDC processes
  • Research and evaluate new software, tools, and methodologies to stay at the forefront of industry technology
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VDC-related challenges
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and aligned VDC deliverables with project goals and client expectations
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of virtual designs
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with VDC processes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding VDC-related inquiries and updates

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience leading teams in a VDC, BIM, or related role within the commercial construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, architectural design, and engineering principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
