Licensed Speech Language Pathologist

Position Overview: Westminster Palms is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our esteemed Therapy Team. This role involves working on a PRN basis within our Health Center, focusing on patient assessments, care planning, and delivering direct treatment to a diverse rehabilitation caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for individuals experiencing cognitive, swallowing, speech, and language disorders, adhering to medical directives.
- Perform assessments and screenings to identify therapy requirements, ensuring the development of a tailored Plan of Care for each resident.
- Provide training and educational support to caregiver staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge in speech therapy practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensuring all information is properly entered into the system.
- Carry out resident screenings during the admission process, as well as quarterly and annual evaluations to assess ongoing therapy needs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology and hold the necessary professional licensure as mandated by state regulations. A minimum of two years of clinical experience is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective time management abilities, and the capacity to engage with various levels of staff and clients are essential.
Physical and Environmental Considerations:
This position requires physical activities such as balancing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Sensory activities include feeling, seeing, hearing, and speaking. The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and pathogens.
