Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at D and H Distributing Co. in Newnan, GA.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the Inbound function in our Distribution Facility, ensuring the efficient and effective management of receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to both customers and employees, while meeting operational and financial objectives.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard warehouse operation and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Control inventory accuracy by conducting physical counts and reconciling with WMS.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Manage warehouse staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Ability to interact and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizing, prioritizing, multi-tasking, product management, and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem-solving.
  • Conduct on-going self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.
  • Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to drive operational performance at the site level with a particular focus on productivity, quality, and cost.
