Responsibilities:

In the position of Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily functions and staffing of the kitchen and dining services within the community. You will foster a culture of hospitality, ensuring that residents' preferences are met and their feedback is valued.

  • Conduct interviews, hire, train, develop, and manage the performance of kitchen staff, including scheduling.
  • Manage monthly and annual budgets for the Culinary Services department, documenting expenditures on food, supplies, and labor.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing standards and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Guarantee that all food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and legal regulations.
  • Engage with residents and their families to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Guide staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure collaboration between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to exceed expectations.
  • Work with community leadership to maintain high customer satisfaction and health survey scores.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports regarding budget and other responsibilities.
  • Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement scores above company standards.
  • Delegate tasks to ensure cleanliness and quality in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Participate in department meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment to prevent injuries and damages.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events and themed meals.
  • Collaborate with the Community Sales team to promote the community.
  • Ensure that staff understand company expectations and first impression standards.
  • Act as a manager on duty as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Culinary Arts Degree or Chef Certification preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Minimum of five years of culinary experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Proven experience in staff supervision and teamwork.
  • Food handlers permit as required by law and/or company standards; HACCP certification may be necessary.
  • Adherence to company appearance and dress code policies.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
