Code is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing access to computer science education in K-12 institutions, with a focus on increasing engagement among young women and students from historically underrepresented communities. Our mission is to ensure that every student in every school has the chance to learn computer science as part of their K-12 education. As a leading provider of K-12 computer science solutions in major school districts across the United States, we also initiated the Hour of Code campaign, which has reached over 15% of students globally.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Creative Lead collaborates closely with the Copywriter to shape the narrative of our brand across diverse channels. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work directly with our leadership team to define our brand and product storytelling through integrated campaigns of various scales.

Your primary focus will be on conceptualizing and realizing your ideas in partnership with a copywriter. Once ideas are developed, you will oversee the production of various content types, including TV/video, digital and social media, out-of-home advertising, experiential marketing, and more. Your role will also involve refreshing existing brands and campaigns, ensuring innovative expressions of established identities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Produce high-quality creative content across multiple marketing communication platforms.
  • Act as a brand guardian to uphold standards in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Generate and implement innovative, on-brand ideas across all business sectors.
  • Effectively manage and deliver numerous projects within established timelines.
  • Present ideas convincingly to secure alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee projects from initial concept through to final execution.
  • Adopt a strategic mindset to tackle challenges and devise solutions.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, ensuring alignment with project expectations.
  • Translate core branding principles and strategies to cross-functional teams and partners.
  • Evaluate brand challenges and offer expert recommendations on strategies or processes to enhance project outcomes.
  • Participate in pre- and post-production discussions as needed.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Art Direction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in a design firm or agency setting as an Art Director is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in branding, graphic design, and integrated campaign development.
  • A strong awareness of current trends in design, art, pop culture, advertising, and digital media.

Preferred candidates will also demonstrate:

  • A proactive and accountable approach to teamwork, fostering positive relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • A self-motivated demeanor paired with a consistently positive outlook.
  • A creative mindset, always seeking innovative solutions.

Additionally, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Be open to occasional travel for team events.
INTERVIEW PROCESS

The interview process consists of several steps, including an informational interview to discuss the role and share your experience, followed by a homework assignment, interviews with team members, a final interview, and reference checks.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000-$100,000, with the final offer determined by relevant business considerations, including the candidate's qualifications and experience.
