Key Responsibilities
  • Intake and Administrative Support: Provide instructions to noncitizens and assist with administrative functions related to receiving noncitizens at intake, storing, and tracking personal property.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare administrative documentation for validation by CBP officers and maintain documents related to the processing of noncitizens in DHS/CBP custody.
  • Information Management: Log information provided by CBP officers about detained noncitizens into DHS/CBP information systems.
  • Procedural Guidance: Demonstrate DNA collection procedures to noncitizens.
  • Case File Preparation: Assist with A-File preparation/upload and case file assembly.
  • Witness and Support: Witness pat-downs conducted by officers and prepare food provided by CBP for distribution to noncitizens.
  • Manifest Preparation: Prepare I-216 manifests for validation by CBP officers.
  • Inventory Management: Stock inventory of basic needs for detainees.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collect and transport supplies and medications within ports of entry and surrounding areas.
  • Communication and Notification: Update and mail I-862 (Notice to Appear) to EOIR when necessary.
  • Family Contact and Orientation: Contact noncitizen family members for contact information confirmation and provide directions to noncitizens within facilities.
