Empowering Individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Resources for Human Development. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, behavioral health histories.

Job Summary:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safety and supervision to our consumers, facilitating healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based settings.
  • This position will require coordination with clinical staff, implementation of residentially based interventions, and assistance with clients' clinical assignments.
  • The DSP will also be responsible for fulfilling obligations as outlined in the client's program plan, prompting or assisting as necessary to ensure participation in activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide supervision of individuals in accordance with person-centered Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), supporting them to work towards identified outcomes.
  2. Complete required documentation and administer medication as needed.
  3. Provide transportation to consumers and support them in activities of daily living, meal preparation, toileting, hygiene, and more.
  4. Assist in Community Integration Activities and access to community supports, including medical appointments and social security access.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, with associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • BASIC COMPUTER AND INTERNET LITERACY IS REQUIRED WITH THE ABILITY TO UTILIZE APPLICATIONS LIKE EMAILS, TIME RECORDING, AND OTHER PROGRAMS TO ENTER AND RETRIEVE DATA AS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB.
  • Prior experience in the human services field is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is also required.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $40,000-$60,000, depending on qualifications and experience. As an employee of Resources for Human Development, you will also have access to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
