Senior Electrical Design Engineer

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical Power Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems for our premier science facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop electrical power systems, including conventional facility design, support for design management of construction, and support for commissioning.
- Conduct technical condition and reliability analysis of SLAC's electrical systems, including transmission tap and substation, power infrastructure, and electrical utilization systems.
- Develop engineering design for SLAC's electrical distribution, emergency, and standby power systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the Electrical Design Group Supervisor, including planning, coordinating, and managing electrical system development projects.
- Collaborate with a diverse team and interface with customer representatives to plan and implement work.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related relevant engineering discipline.
- Five years of directly related experience in Electrical Power Distribution.
- Possession of State of California registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer or EIT with ability to obtain PE license in one year.
- Experience leading technical or cross-functional teams and managing complex projects or groups of projects.
- Deep technical knowledge in area of expertise, including electrical design of industrial and institutional facilities, design electrical distribution systems, and applying relevant codes, regulations, and processes.
Given the nature of this position, SLAC will require onsite work. The expected pay range for this position is $136,000 - $172,000 per annum.
