Position Overview

The Financial and Regulatory Reporting team at Cross River operates directly under the Controllership function within the Finance department. As a Regulatory and Financial Reporting Specialist, you will be instrumental in further developing the Financial and Regulatory Reporting function. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to the preparation of annual financial statements and quarterly regulatory filings, serve as a resource for business units and Accounting teams seeking guidance on complex transactions, and monitor new accounting standards while maintaining organized documentation for submission to senior leadership.

This position offers high visibility and the chance to gain insights into various business structures and transactions, while also collaborating with multiple departments and external auditors. The role reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end US GAAP financial statements and various regulatory filings on a weekly and quarterly basis.
  • Review new business agreements and product offerings to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
  • Assess existing contracts to confirm appropriate booking models are applied.
  • Research and manage the communication and implementation of evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial close variance discussions and analyses.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team monthly to provide guidance on complex entries and transactions.
  • Offer accounting and process improvement recommendations based on previous audit findings.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including auditors and internal departments such as Capital Markets, Credit, and Risk Management.
Qualifications:
  • CPA or currently pursuing CPA is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, SEC Reporting, or Accounting Policy.
  • Proven knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Exceptional written, analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions to gather information, understand business structures, articulate accounting guidance, and communicate conclusions to stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to all stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organized, and possess a positive attitude.
