Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of International Admissions and Student Services, this role is pivotal in guiding and attracting potential international undergraduate and graduate candidates to the institution.

Key Responsibilities

International Student Outreach

In collaboration with the Director, this position is responsible for the strategic recruitment and advisory services for prospective international students.

Employ advanced counseling methodologies and interpersonal skills to assist potential international candidates.

Foster and sustain collaborative relationships, ensuring regular communication with prospective students to provide insights about the institution, admission criteria, application procedures, immigration regulations, academic offerings, campus life, and other relevant information.

Act as a representative of the institution at various educational recruitment events and fairs, both domestically and internationally, engaging with prospective students, educational partners, and agents.

Handle complex and sensitive issues, including generating reports on inquiries, applications, enrollments, and immigration matters for international students using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Proactively follow up on student inquiries with tact and persuasion to achieve recruitment objectives.

Travel and Collaboration

Work alongside various departments to identify programs appealing to international students; build relationships with faculty and staff in graduate programs; collaborate with domestic admissions to guide international prospects encountered during outreach; and provide leads collected by the International Admissions team.

Utilize approved digital platforms to enhance the institution's international visibility.

Develop communication materials for prospective students within the CRM framework.

Document all prospective student information from recruitment events into the CRM system.

Organize recruitment events, ensuring follow-up on leads to facilitate enrollment.

Design and conduct informational webinars for admitted students to prepare them for visa interviews and arrival logistics.

Coordinate engagement activities for admitted international students to promote campus involvement.

Recruitment Strategy Development

Collaborate with the Director to generate innovative and cost-effective strategies to enhance international student recruitment and outreach efforts.

Assist in formulating creative recruitment strategies to adapt to evolving trends and circumstances.

Analyze and present data on international student enrollment trends, offering alternative solutions as necessary.

Diversify recruitment plans to encompass various global regions and programs of interest.

Work closely with academic departments to streamline the recruitment pipeline.

Monitor recruitment travel and expenses, generating reports to assess recruitment effectiveness and calculate Return on Investment (ROI) from targeted outreach initiatives.

Design and produce marketing materials for both print and online platforms.

Building Partnerships

Establish and maintain timely and accurate relationships with agents and partners regarding institutional programs, timelines, and admission requirements.

Conduct training sessions for agents, focusing on high-level analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving techniques.

Facilitate onsite training for agents during visits, providing individual counseling and meeting prospective students.

Collaborate with educational organizations to conduct virtual and in-person presentations, providing updates and training to counselors.

Institutional Relationship Management

Maintain and update records of community colleges, domestic high schools, and international high schools along with their advisors.

Utilize advanced interpersonal skills to engage with counselors through digital and onsite communications, providing updates on university admissions.

Organize and participate in recruitment events targeting international students at domestic high schools.

Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for issuing necessary documentation and tracking visa approval rates.

Contribute positively to a collaborative and efficient work environment as a team member.

Support initiatives and events aimed at enhancing international student enrollment and retention, including orientation programs and workshops.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in student services, with a preference for experience in international education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in university admissions processes.
  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad for an extended period.
  • Familiarity with international student recruitment and CRM systems.
