Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

At HIKINEX, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Manager to oversee all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability programming at the site level.

This role involves administering occupational safety programs, ensuring compliance with Federal and state OSHA and EPA regulations, managing state workers' compensation and medical case management, and overseeing environmental stewardship, reporting, and physical security measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the site leader responsible for implementing and sustaining the Company's EHS&S management system.
  • Coordinates the facility's Behavior Based Safety program, including analysis of data collected from observations.
  • Ensures regular and on-going hazard identification and abatement efforts in the facility.
  • Represents company's interests, along with enterprise leaders, in compliance enforcement actions and any litigation.
  • Administers workers' compensation claims management, documentation, medical treatment, follow-up and record retention.
  • Coordinates EHS&S required training for employees and maintains required documentation for plant training programs.
  • Maintains accurate OSHA Recordkeeping and worker's compensation required documentation.
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Bias for action and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to drive the EHS&S program forward and engage associates within all levels of the organization.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of operations.
  • Experience with Safety, Security, U.S. OSHA and EPA, & Worker's Compensation administration in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with five (5) years of experience in EHS&S profession necessary.
Working Conditions:

Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast paced production environment.

May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.

SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards.
