Job Summary:

Cornestone Staffing is seeking a skilled Packaging Specialist to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN. As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standard.
  • Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
  • Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
  • Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
  • Start machines by engaging controls.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor, process owner, technician or designated lead person.
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams or equipment threats such as adhesive build up, ink spills and loose / worn hardware.
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as labels, cartons, bottles, closures, shipper cartons, glue, ink and other related used packaging components.
  • Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.
  • Clean and remove damaged or otherwise inferior materials to prepare for equipment, room sanitization.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required.
  • 3+ years related work experience.
  • Excellent reading and comprehension skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Repetitive movements with hands.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Continuous walking, standing, bending.
