Position Overview:


We are in search of a Mathematics Educator for Middle School who will instruct students in grades 5-8 and is dedicated to fostering student success and educational advancement.

Qualified candidates should have a history of achievement, a high level of personal accountability, and the motivation to ensure that every student excels academically.

This individual must embody a commitment to excellence, lead by example, and value collaboration as essential to success. Successful candidates will possess a strong urgency to enhance student learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Instructing mathematics at the Middle School level in alignment with Common Core Standards.

2. Familiarity with Singapore Math/Math in Focus curriculum is preferred.

3. Adapting curriculum to cater to the diverse needs of students.


4. Fostering a classroom environment where students develop a love for mathematics and enjoy exploring various strategies for problem-solving.

5. Implementing an inquiry-based curriculum that emphasizes logic and reasoning.

6. Assisting students in preparing for state mathematics assessments.


7. Creating weekly lesson plans that align with state curriculum goals and employ diverse teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.

8. Collaborating with colleagues to design units and lessons while enhancing instructional expertise.

9. Gaining familiarity with the school charter, standardized assessments, and overall performance goals.


10. Utilizing assessments, classroom performance, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate student progress promptly, enabling targeted small group instruction and identifying curricular and professional development needs.

11. Establishing and maintaining an organized, well-managed, and stimulating classroom environment.


12. Assessing student academic and social development, maintaining accurate records, preparing progress reports, and communicating with parents regarding individual student progress.

13. Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices.

14. Demonstrating strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

15. Upholding the institution's reputation by acting with integrity and honesty.

16. Recognizing and valuing the unique characteristics of middle school students.

This position reports to the school principal.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. NYS Teaching Certification or equivalent from another state is required.

2. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle school level is required.

3. Familiarity with Singapore Math curriculum is preferred.

4. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

5. Candidates who do not meet the above qualifications will not be considered.
