About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Middle School Mathematics Educator to join our team at Public Preparatory Network. As a Mathematics Teacher for Middle School, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social-emotional growth in our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Preparation
  • Create engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to promote student understanding and retention of mathematical concepts.
  • Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and drive student outcomes.
  • Relationship Building and Student Support
  • Establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a sense of community and belonging.
  • Provide individualized support and accommodations to ensure students with diverse needs succeed.
  • Family and Community Engagement
  • Communicate effectively with families to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in the learning process.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations to provide students with opportunities for growth and development.
  • Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote academic excellence and social-emotional growth.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A master's degree in mathematics education or a related field is preferred.
  • New York State Certification in mathematics education or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching mathematics in a middle school setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social-emotional growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in mathematics education.
