Job Overview

Rusty Pelican Miami is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing ingredients, and supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, slicing, and cooking elements for meal preparation.
  • Store items in the refrigerator, cover items left in the open air, and prepare special food elements ahead of time for quick access and use in cooking.
  • Work efficiently to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area throughout the shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and setting up stations, breaking down and cleaning stations thoroughly every day.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products to par, label, day dot, and sign all products, and obtain Chef/Manager signature on all products.

Requirements:

  • High school or 1 year of similar experience preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for hours at a time, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
