Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide individual and group therapy to patients, document their progress, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group therapy to patients
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans
  • Develop and present didactic material to patients
  • Conduct family sessions and document accordingly
  • Provide crisis intervention and aftercare planning
  • Evaluate patient needs and determine if psychiatric referral is necessary
  • Assist in training new clinical staff and interns
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health or related field
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience with chemically dependent/dually diagnosed population
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred
