Position Overview:

The Healthcare Operations Manager at Project HOME is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and ensuring efficient access for individuals facing homelessness and their families in the community.

This role oversees a team of dental professionals, including general dentists and dental hygienists, across multiple facilities.

The Healthcare Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to front desk personnel, dental assistants, and expanded function dental assistants (EFDAs).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, training, and evaluating a dedicated staff of nine (9) to enhance patient access and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Setting performance benchmarks and ensuring accountability among team members.
  • Collaborating with the billing department to support effective revenue cycle management.
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical standards for quality and safety.

Core Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the dental team by:

  • Hiring and onboarding new staff, including dental assistants and receptionists.
  • Conducting regular training sessions focused on customer service and teamwork.
  • Addressing performance challenges and celebrating successes.

Patient Access Management:
Enhance patient access to dental services by:

  • Monitoring clinic productivity and scheduling practices.
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs.
  • Managing patient schedules to optimize appointment availability.

Financial Oversight:
Ensure the financial sustainability of the dental department by:

  • Collaborating with the business office to maintain accurate billing and coding practices.
  • Overseeing patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Managing inventory and supply orders within budget constraints.

Quality Assurance:
Maintain high standards of patient care by:

  • Supervising patient flow and ensuring timely care delivery.
  • Working with dental professionals to uphold clinical standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
