Position Overview:

A Senior Superintendent oversees the on-site workflow of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and HITT's rigorous safety and quality standards. This role involves providing direction and acting as the primary point of contact among project team members, advocating for both business and client interests while exemplifying the qualities of a mid-level leader. The Senior Superintendent communicates project priorities effectively to site personnel and subcontractors, taking charge of the construction site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the HITT safety program across all subcontractors, ensuring timely reporting and investigation of incidents, and facilitating safety inspections by external agencies.
  • Uphold HITT's quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead all safety initiatives on-site, fostering a secure working environment for all participants.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of activities and site conditions, managing the punch list and the closeout process through owner and architect approval.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop the project schedule, ensuring adherence to installation methods and sequences, fulfilling schedule commitments, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with all subcontractors, enhancing community ties that support business opportunities, and ensuring fair treatment of subcontractors.
  • Ensure accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets, comprehend subcontractor scopes to prevent unnecessary change orders, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Organize and lead the site team, coordinating temporary facilities and utilities, and identifying critical long lead items that require expedited attention.
  • Work closely with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project duration.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • In the absence of a degree, relevant work experience will be considered.
  • 8-10 years of experience in commercial construction, particularly with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience with tenant renovations, service work, and projects in occupied spaces is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of building processes and industry best practices.
  • Ability to effectively organize resources, including personnel, tools, and time, to meet tight deadlines and achieve project goals.
  • Previous experience in a superintendent or project lead role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Physical capability to walk and stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on professionalism and clarity.
  • Positive attitude and passion for the construction industry.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret it meaningfully, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Consistent demonstration of integrity aligned with HITT's core values.
