What are the key responsibilities of a Sales Support Specialist?

The Sales Support Specialist serves as the entry-level role within the Wealth Management Internal Sales Team, acting as a gateway to career advancement at Franklin Templeton. This team is dedicated to providing top-tier consultative sales and relationship management assistance to financial advisors. Upon successful completion of the Associate program (4-8 months), individuals are eligible for promotion to Internal Sales Consultant.

What ongoing responsibilities does a Sales Support Specialist have?

  • Engage in a comprehensive training program that covers financial markets, products, key client segments, technology tools, portfolio construction sales skills, and overall professional development.
  • Achieve the SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) within the initial days.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional sales support for both internal and external sales teams through research, inbound/outbound calls, and email communication.
  • Develop a robust understanding of the financial services sector and the financial markets.
  • Gain insight into Franklin Templeton's product offerings to provide tailored solutions to financial advisors.
  • Acquire fundamental knowledge of competitor products to effectively position Franklin Templeton's offerings.
  • Enhance communication and sales skills, including the ability to deliver impactful presentations both internally and externally.
  • Address inquiries regarding Franklin Templeton products and strategies.
  • Provide clients with information and insights on market trends and Franklin Templeton's products, services, and resources.
  • Collaborate with an assigned peer mentor throughout the training program, receiving regular coaching, training, and feedback from leadership.
What qualifications, skills, and experience contribute to success in this role?
  • A BA or BS degree is required, with candidates from diverse majors encouraged to apply.
  • SIE licensing is preferred but not mandatory upon application.
  • Experience in the financial industry is advantageous, including work experience, internships, and relevant coursework.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is essential.
