Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Frontier Management (OR). As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for leading group activities and providing support to residents in a variety of recreational and therapeutic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement engaging group activities that promote socialization, recreation, and therapy for residents.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all activities and resident participation, and provide regular reports to the Program Director.
  • Transportation and Escort Services: Safely transport residents to and from activities, and provide escort services as needed.
  • One-on-One Visits: Provide regular, meaningful one-on-one visits with residents, as indicated by their individual needs.
  • Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare for specialized therapeutic programming, and maintain and clean department supplies and materials as assigned.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff, and respond promptly to resident requests.
  • Snack and Beverage Services: Offer snacks and fresh water to residents and guests, and document appropriately.
  • Monitoring and Crisis Management: Monitor residents during smoking periods, and demonstrate the ability to de-escalate resident conflicts through verbal strategies, redirection, and crisis management.
  • Meal Pass Assistance: Assist with meal pass in a timely manner, ensuring that residents receive their meals in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Health and Safety: Must be vaccinated for Covid-19, or have a medical or religious exemption
  • Experience: Preferred experience in Behavioral Health and Long-Term Care settings
