Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise the activities of a clinical and/or operational team or program, ensuring the development and review of clinical protocols and operational policies/procedures.
  2. Coordinate a Pharmacy team's/program's activities and document progress toward approved team/program clinical and operational goals.
  3. Develop and maintain a training program for the team, mentoring colleagues to ensure proficiency of all team members as required.
  4. Teach students, residents, and new pharmacy staff, participating in scholarly activities.
  5. Provide formal and informal work performance feedback to team members, including the preparation and administration of performance reviews as required.
  6. Manage priorities to meet team/program expectations.
  7. Create and/or maintain policies and procedures specific to the practice area.
  8. Provide clinical and operational pharmacist services to patients as required.
  9. Identify and implement clinical pathway and/or operational process improvement initiatives to provide optimal care while minimizing cost.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  11. Participate in candidate interviews and selection, conducting candidate interviews and selecting appropriate candidates for position vacancies as required.
  12. Support compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
Requirements

Education Requirements: A PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree is required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment is required.

Professional Experience Requirements: Two years of prior pharmacist experience or equivalent is required.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: A strong understanding of clinical and operational pharmacy practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills, is necessary.

Work Details

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The salary range is $53.47 - $76.87 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity.

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. This is not a State employed position.
