About the Role:
Maintain the cleanliness and order of public areas, including the lobby and common spaces, to ensure a positive experience for our guests. Provide prompt and courteous service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of public spaces, including the parking lot and public areas.
- Complete daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning checklists to ensure high standards are met.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, thresholds, baseboards, railings, elevators, stairwells, and window frames.
- Vacuum and spot clean carpeting, upholstery, and drapery, removing any gum or sticky substances.
- Clean and shine all glass and metal surfaces.
- Empty trash receptacles, polish, and replace trash bags as needed.
- Remove trash to the dumpster.
- Clean offices as assigned.
- Clean public restrooms and stock with supplies.
- Clean public and service elevators (inside and out).
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed.
- Ensure a clean and professional appearance at all times, with a cheerful and courteous demeanor.
- Notify housekeeping leadership, maintenance department, or MOD of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, or damage to floor covering, upholstery, or other areas.
- Attend all departmental meetings in person to enhance communication and gain knowledge of products, services, and facilities.
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on the phone, providing timely and knowledgeable information to provide excellent customer service.
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure safety and protection of self, associates, and guests.
Requirements:
- No formal education required.
- Minimum one-year previous cleaning experience at a hotel preferred.
- Ability to meet standard appearance and cleaning standards.
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods, cleaning implements, and chemicals.
- Physical demands include lifting cleaning supplies (up to 30 lbs.), pushing and pulling equipment (up to 30 lbs.), carrying supplies (up to 30 lbs.), bending to start machines and load chemicals, and standing for long periods.
