Job Overview

Position Summary: We are looking for a dedicated full-time supervisor to lead our Front End department in a supportive and dynamic work environment. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver outstanding customer service by providing effective leadership, training, and support to all front end personnel.
  2. Manage daily front end operations, including scheduling, task delegation, and cash handling procedures.
  3. Be available to work various shifts, including opening and closing times.
  4. Collaborate with the front end manager to enhance operational systems and address any issues that arise.
  5. Handle performance-related matters of front end staff in a respectful and timely manner.
  6. Ensure the front end is well-stocked with necessary supplies for smooth operations.
  7. Communicate effectively with all levels of store management and staff to maintain a cohesive team environment.
  8. Assist the front end manager with inventory management and pricing accuracy across assigned departments.
  9. Maintain proficiency in all front end equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
  10. Support the front end manager in ensuring pricing integrity and addressing discrepancies as needed.
  11. Keep the front end area clean and organized, including all equipment.
  12. Promote community engagement by staying informed about co-op events and offerings.
  13. Assist customers in locating products by being knowledgeable about store layout.
  14. Encourage membership sign-ups for the co-op.
  15. Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as required.
  16. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Department Manager.

Qualifications:

1. At least one year of experience in a customer service role.

2. Proficient in cash handling and security protocols.

3. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

4. Attention to detail and a focus on customer satisfaction.

5. Capability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.

6. Experience in implementing and evaluating operational systems for efficiency.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

9. Familiarity with operating various equipment within the department.

10. Proven track record of following through on commitments.

Physical Requirements:

The following physical capabilities are essential for this role:

1. Proficient use of office equipment including computers and telephones.

2. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly.

3. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.

4. Capacity to stand or walk for the duration of the shift.

5. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb as necessary.

6. Frequent reaching above shoulder height.

7. Effective communication skills to interact with customers.

8. Manual dexterity to handle various items.

9. Adequate vision for reading screens and labels.
