Job Details

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT) is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment

This position is based in a well-lit medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The ideal candidate will possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators, and be able to handle files and supplies with ease.
