- Pack, ship, and track medications with precision, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing errors.
- Update Specialty Pharmacy maintenance logs, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Enter prescription plan information into patient profiles, facilitating efficient processing and adjudication.
- Enter new patient prescription information into the pharmacy information system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues, communicating effectively with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
- Contribute to achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy, working collaboratively with the team.
- Retrieve and prepare medications for pharmacist review and verification, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review, facilitating informed purchasing decisions.
- Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock, maintaining accurate records and minimizing errors.
- Answer inbound telephone calls, triaging calls as necessary and directing them to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist with the review and handling of adjudicated prescription claims, ensuring appropriateness of reimbursement and co-pay.
- Support pharmacists by providing required information for therapeutic consults with patients, enhancing patient care and outcomes.
- Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing errors.
- Participate in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program, enhancing patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Perform related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Ambulatory Pharmacy team.
- A minimum of two (2) years of directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience, with a bachelor's degree program preferred.
- Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification.
- State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints, with strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and company policies.
