Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at A-Line Staffing Solutions. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with drug preparation and dispensing under their direct supervision.
  • Perform higher-level pharmacy technician responsibilities, such as inventory control, data entry, and IV preparation.
  • Fulfill prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
  • Participate in periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
  • Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from inventory.
  • Prepare medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Assist in the training of new employees.
Requirements:
  • Verifiable High School Diploma
  • Attendance mandatory for first 90 days
  • Must have valid TN license
  • National Certifications preferred
  • 1 year of pharmacy tech experience – long-term care setting preferred
