Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Value Apothecaries Inc. As a Pharmacy Technician - Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ambulatory pharmacy. Your primary responsibility will be to obtain new patient clinical and prescription plan coverage information, review new prescriptions and existing prescriptions, and ensure compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain new patient clinical and prescription plan coverage information
  • Review new prescriptions and existing prescriptions
  • Ensure compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy
  • Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification
  • Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review to purchase
  • Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock
  • Answer inbound telephone calls and triage calls as appropriate
  • Assist with reviews and handling of adjudicated prescription claims
  • Assist pharmacist by providing required information for therapeutic consults with patients
  • Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues
  • Supply and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology
  • Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program

Requirements
  • Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience
  • Bachelor's degree program preferred
  • Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification required
  • State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements
