Assistant Store Manager

OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Store Manager will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to inspire and lead their team in order to enhance sales and profitability, deliver outstanding customer service, and maintain all visual and operational standards set by South Lunar, Inc. This role is pivotal in driving business through strategic product placement and the upkeep of the South Lunar environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently achieve or surpass the financial and operational goals of the store.
  • Share accountability with the Store Manager for the store's profitability.
  • Execute all opening and closing procedures, ensuring strict adherence to daily checklists.
  • Meet or exceed shrinkage targets by implementing robust loss prevention practices and conducting regular audits.
  • Collaborate with the Visual Department to plan, schedule, and implement an innovative visual merchandising strategy.
  • Maintain all aspects of the store's environment to optimize sales opportunities.
  • Manage and train the sales team on product knowledge and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist the Store Manager with daily financial transactions, staff scheduling, recruitment, training, and onboarding as needed.
  • Lead and motivate the store team, acting as a proactive mentor and problem solver.
  • Utilize available training resources to ensure consistent staff development.
  • Embody the brand's aesthetics and demonstrate a strong sense of fashion along with a positive attitude.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the role.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management-level role within a specialty retail environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and POS systems.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to meet the following physical demands: frequently required to stand, talk, or hear; occasionally required to sit, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Ability to apply common sense understanding and execute instructions with minimal supervision is essential.
