Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager - Restaurant Operations is a key role at Frisch's, supporting the General Manager in achieving the restaurant's objectives and aligning with the company's vision of being an outstanding workplace, dining venue, and business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to gain necessary skills for General Manager responsibilities during their absence.
  • Create a supportive environment for both employees and customers.
  • Oversee restaurant operations to ensure product availability and cash control.
  • Assist in financial forecasting, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Offer strategies for sales growth, cost control, and waste reduction.
  • Support staffing processes, including hiring, firing, and staff development.
  • Mentor and guide Restaurant Managers in training and development practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all restaurant policies, safety, security, and maintenance protocols.
  • Manage merit increases, pay adjustments, and disciplinary actions for staff.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Associates degree or 6 months of management experience in the restaurant industry, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred or able to obtain certification prior to completion of training.
  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
  • Skilled in training, motivating, evaluating, coaching, delegating, and supervising.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes, with strong math and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing stress, and handling customer issues professionally.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Position involves significant interaction with customers, working with cooking equipment, and navigating slippery surfaces.
  • Requires standing for prolonged periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing various physical activities like bending and climbing.
