About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Risk Review Officer to join our team at City National Bank. As a key member of our Credit Risk Review Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the overall credit risk and effectiveness of our credit risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scope, Lead and Manage Examinations: You will be responsible for leading and managing examinations of various types of credit portfolios and credit processes to identify current or potential problems, as well as positive elements, regarding the assessment of credit risk and the administration of Bank credit/loan exposure.
  • Perform Risk-Based Independent Reviews: You will perform risk-based independent reviews of all types of CNB loan portfolios, including quality assurance document and underwriting reviews, to identify current or potential problems, as well as positive elements, regarding the assessment of credit risk and the administration of Bank credit/loan exposure.
  • Determine Accuracy of Internal Credit Risk Ratings: You will determine the accuracy of assigned internal credit risk ratings, non-compliance with CNB policies and procedures, loan weaknesses, and violations of laws and regulations.
  • Identify and Recommend Process Changes: You will identify, recommend, and effect process changes as related to credit risk management activities, regulatory statutes, credit policy, and general credit underwriting guidelines.
  • Interpret and Evaluate Bank Credit Policy: You will interpret and evaluate Bank Credit Policy and assure that proper credit controls are in place to appropriately manage credit risk.
  • Act as Internal Advisor/Partner: You will act as an internal advisor/partner to CNB's line units regarding loan and credit matters and provide guidance in areas that require further development.
  • Maintain Awareness of Regulatory/Industry Trends: You will maintain awareness of the current regulatory/industry trends impacting the Bank's credit areas.
  • Promote Teamwork and Knowledge Sharing: You will promote teamwork within the department to ensure that knowledge and experience are shared among team members.
  • Prepare Departmental Reports: You will prepare departmental reports and other portfolio reporting as requested by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: You must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 Years of Credit Examination Experience: You must have a minimum of 10 years of credit examination experience as a commercial lender, regulator, or credit review officer.
  • Minimum of 5 Years of MS Office Experience: You must have a minimum of 5 years of MS Office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a Formal Credit Training Program: Completion of a formal credit training program at a commercial bank is a plus.
  • Previous Experience in Leading Teams of Examiners: Previous experience in leading teams of examiners is highly desirable.
  • Strong Understanding of Analyzing Various Types of Middle Market Credits: You must have a strong understanding of analyzing various types of middle market credits.
  • Thorough Knowledge of Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) Systems: You must have a thorough knowledge of Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) systems.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills: You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation

The starting base salary for this position is $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
