About the Role

The Chief Diversity Officer at StateJobsNY is responsible for leading and directing the agency's diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives. This position plays a critical role in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and ensuring that DEIA principles are integrated into the Department's policies, program development, employee lifecycle, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct the agency's DEIA initiatives, collaborating with the State's Chief Diversity Officer and the Department of Civil Service to meet statewide diversity objectives.
  • Act as the agency's liaison with the New York State Olmstead Director, ensuring the seamless exchange of insights, recommendations, and feedback regarding the Olmstead Plan.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, ensuring that DEIA principles are integrated into the Department's policies, program development, employee lifecycle, and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least six years of experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility leadership, with strong strategic planning, data analysis, and managerial skills.
  • Experience in a government or public sector environment is preferred, along with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
