Position Overview:

We are looking for a knowledgeable Systems Engineer to enhance our innovative team at AllSTEM Connections. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in systems engineering, particularly with practical experience utilizing CORE and/or DOORS management tools for capturing requirements and generating specification documents. This position is vital for guaranteeing that our intricate systems are architected, developed, and delivered in accordance with rigorous requirements and industry benchmarks.

Primary Duties:

  • Requirements Oversight: Employ CORE and/or DOORS to effectively gather, manage, and monitor requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that requirements are distinctly articulated, documented, and aligned with the goals of the project.
  • Specification Creation: Develop and uphold comprehensive specification documents, ensuring they accurately represent system requirements and adhere to industry standards and client expectations.
  • System Architecture and Evaluation: Participate in the architecture and evaluation of complex systems, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility with existing infrastructures. Conduct trade studies and assessments to enhance system performance and dependability.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and clients, to gather and refine requirements. Facilitate discussions and workshops to ensure a mutual understanding of system requirements and limitations.
  • Configuration Oversight: Manage configuration oversight processes to guarantee that all system components are accurately documented and controlled. Supervise version control and maintain requirement traceability.
  • Validation and Testing: Assist in the formulation of test plans and validate that systems satisfy all defined requirements. Aid in diagnosing and resolving issues identified during the testing phase.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate and maintain thorough documentation related to requirements, design, and system functionality. Provide regular updates and reports to project teams and management.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to ongoing process enhancements by identifying opportunities to improve requirements management and specification documentation practices.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with a strong focus on requirements management and specification documentation.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
  • Expertise in CORE and/or DOORS management tools.
  • Thorough understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements traceability, configuration management, and system validation.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
