Position Overview

This role is pivotal in overseeing, directing, and executing all components of the newly established Shelton Promise Program at The Evergreen State College.

Program Objectives

The Shelton Promise Program, recently funded by legislative action, aims to enhance access to higher education for Shelton high school graduates, who have historically faced lower enrollment rates compared to state averages.

Evergreen will deliver comprehensive support services from the point of enrollment through to graduation, which includes:

  • Academic and career counseling
  • Course registration assistance
  • Housing support
  • Student employment and internship opportunities

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Enrollment Officer, this position is responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership for the Shelton Promise Program
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff across various divisions
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with local school district personnel
  • Implementing a comprehensive outreach strategy to raise awareness within the Shelton community

This role requires significant engagement within the local community, including direct interaction with prospective students and their families, delivering informative presentations, and fostering trust in the educational pathways offered by Evergreen.


Employment Details

This is a full-time, overtime-eligible project position located on the Olympia campus of The Evergreen State College. It is an 'at-will' appointment, exempt from Washington State Civil Service regulations.

The project is funded for a duration of two years from the start date, with potential for extension based on program performance and additional funding.


Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $4,571 to $5,945 per month for full-time work, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
