Cardiac Rhythm Specialist

The Cardiac Rhythm Specialist is responsible for performing electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretations by analyzing and recording atrial and ventricular rates and rhythms. This role requires the ability to measure EKG waveforms using accepted standards and guidelines, providing current data to determine appropriate treatment of arrhythmias and immediate intervention of life-threatening situations.
Key Responsibilities
Measures EKG waveforms to determine atrial and ventricular rates and rhythms
Performs cardiac monitoring by continuously observing monitor screens for proper waveform on each telemetry patient
Recognizes, records, and informs nurses of abnormalities/changes in patient waveforms
Troubleshoots and maintains equipment and supplies
Admits and discharges patients out of telemetry system in accordance with unit policy
Requirements
Prior telemetry monitoring experience/EKG monitoring in a hospital setting required
High school or GED minimum education required
