Miami Dade College is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a Faculty Position in Political Science and Public Policy. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach lecture and laboratory sections, develop and implement curriculum that aligns with course objectives, and participate in curriculum development and revision.
- Student Evaluation and Advising: Evaluate student performance, provide career and academic advising, and serve as a resource person for adjunct faculty.
- Departmental Participation: Participate in departmental recruiting and retention activities, contribute to departmental, campus, and college-wide programs, activities, and committees.
- Administrative Tasks: Prepare and submit student information to the Department Chairperson, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
- Education: Master's Degree in Political Science or a related field, or a Master's Degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Political Science.
- Certifications and Skills: Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques, student-centered methods of instruction, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience: Previous experience in curriculum development, recruitment, and teaching is highly desirable.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community, and to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
