Patient Service Coordinator Ambulatory I

Hennepin Healthcare is a comprehensive healthcare system that includes a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County.

Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and guests in a friendly manner, following the "I am Welcomed" standard workflow.
  • Provide navigation assistance to all patients and guests.
  • Utilize the electronic health record accurately and efficiently to perform patient check-in, point of service collections, registration, and patient check-out.
  • Ensure personal workspace and patient waiting areas are neat and sanitized.
  • Handle patient financial transactions, including cash box, cash collections, credit/debit card transactions, and daily reconciliation.
  • Promote the organization and assist in maintaining clinic efficiency.
  • Check-out patients and provide scheduling support for contracted providers and specialty departments.
  • Provide support for providers with requests and urgent needs.
  • Manage special patient needs upon request.
  • Maintain Clerical Pool In-basket messages and complete them appropriately based on the SLA and urgency of the message.
  • Receive and create encounters for medical forms and deliver them to the clinical team.
  • Assist with processing of time-sensitive patient needs, such as patient forms, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field and/or six months of Front of House experience.
  • One year of customer service experience.
