Pediatric Cardiologist Opportunity

Nicklaus Children's Heart Institute is on the lookout for a committed and enthusiastic BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist to enhance our team. The perfect candidate will possess a strong commitment to establishing a community-focused pediatric cardiology practice, particularly in the area of fetal cardiology. This role involves collaboration with local healthcare facilities and neonatology services, providing tailored support to pediatricians, family practitioners, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists, with an aim to expand our practice within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

· Establish and nurture a community-oriented pediatric cardiology practice with a focus on fetal cardiology.

· Partner with local hospitals and neonatology services.

· Deliver customized cardiology services to pediatricians, family practice providers, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists.

· Cultivate relationships with healthcare professionals in the community to promote practice growth.

Location:

Become part of a flourishing and expanding group providing outpatient consultations in a state-of-the-art ambulatory center. Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.

· MD degree or equivalent from an accredited medical institution, complemented by a minimum of three years of fellowship training in pediatric cardiology.

  • Strong dedication to community-based healthcare.

  • Capability to forge and sustain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers.

Job Summary

This role primarily involves clinical responsibilities related to the assessment, treatment, and management of pediatric patients within a multidisciplinary framework that includes physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, clinical scientists, and social workers. The position provides exposure to a diverse range of pediatric cases, including both general and high-acuity patients. Additionally, it encompasses teaching and supervising medical residents, along with opportunities for research and publication.

Job Specific Duties

  • Utilizes knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
  • Engages in continuous self-education through various professional development activities.
  • Facilitates and/or develops training sessions to meet the needs of staff and residents.
  • Coordinates follow-up for tests, lab studies, and patient inquiries.
  • Provides direct clinical services, including comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
  • Contributes suggestions for departmental improvements.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement, Research, and Publishing initiatives.
  • Serves as a mentor and educator for medical students and residents.
  • Participates in the on-call schedule as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
  • Current state medical license in good standing.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
