Pediatric Cardiologist

Nicklaus Children's Heart Institute is on the lookout for a committed and enthusiastic BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist to become part of our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to establishing a community-oriented pediatric cardiology practice, particularly in the area of fetal cardiology. This role involves collaboration with local healthcare facilities and neonatology practices, providing tailored services to pediatricians, family practice providers, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists within the community, with a focus on expanding the practice in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

· Establish and sustain a community-focused pediatric cardiology practice with a concentration on fetal cardiology.

· Collaborate effectively with local hospitals and neonatology practices.

· Deliver personalized cardiology services to pediatricians, family practice providers, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists.

· Cultivate relationships with healthcare providers in the community to promote practice growth.

Location:

Join a flourishing and expanding group providing outpatient consultations in an ambulatory center. This area offers convenient access to two international airports and is known for its warm climate and vibrant attractions, ranging from outdoor activities to cultural experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/board-eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.

· MD degree or equivalent from an accredited medical institution, with a minimum of three years of fellowship training in pediatric cardiology.

  • Strong dedication to community-based healthcare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers.

· Commitment to patient-centered care, innovation, and ongoing improvement.

Job Summary

This role primarily involves clinical responsibilities related to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric patients in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and social workers. The position provides exposure to a diverse range of pediatric patients and includes opportunities for teaching and research involvement.

Job Specific Duties

  • Utilizes knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
  • Engages in continuous self-education through professional development activities.
  • Coordinates and delivers educational sessions to meet staff and resident development needs.
  • Oversees follow-up of tests, lab studies, and patient communications.
  • Provides direct clinical services, including history and physical examinations, treatment planning, and patient education.
  • Contributes suggestions for departmental improvements.
  • Participates in performance improvement, research, and publication efforts.
  • Instructs and serves as a role model for medical students and residents.
  • Participates in the on-call schedule as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
  • Current state medical license in good standing.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
