Position Overview: The Production Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing the value of Building Automation Products and the Production Team by engaging in light assembly tasks. This involves transforming raw materials into finished goods by utilizing engineering schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble products according to specifications:

  1. Adhere to the guidance of the Cell/Line Leader and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each assignment.
  2. Follow instructions from Supervisors/Schedulers and Cell/Line Leaders regarding task prioritization.
  3. Utilize the correct tools for each specific job.
  4. Refer to the appropriate Bill of Materials (BOM) and online schematics before commencing tasks.
  5. Perform soldering, wire stripping, crimping, waterproofing, calibration, and assembly as instructed.
  6. Manage time effectively and transition smoothly between tasks.
  7. Consult both online and printed documentation to conduct accurate in-process inspections for oneself and colleagues.
  8. Adapt to various roles within lines/cells and demonstrate the ability to perform duties across 2-3 lines/cells.
  9. Collaborate to ensure timely shipment of products.

Participate in monthly inventory processes:

  1. Depending on the assigned area, accurately count parts, document quantities, and assist in auditing counts of others or scanning products during inventory.

Enhance industry knowledge by attending workshops or classes, reviewing relevant publications, and networking.

Contribute to team success by achieving related outcomes as needed, including special projects and tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(P) High School Diploma or GED

(P) Technical Certificate with 1-2 years of relevant experience, or 3-5 years of applicable experience.

Preferred Degrees/Certificates: Electronics, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial.

Training, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (P) Basic understanding of electronics.

Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (P) Experience in soldering small components.
