Position Overview

The Logistics Operations Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient handling of goods within the warehouse environment, ensuring that all merchandise is processed in alignment with established safety protocols and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accurately select and verify products.
  2. Conduct necessary inspections of equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
  3. Adhere to all safety protocols.
  4. Receive loading instructions from the dock supervisor.
  5. Follow all operational guidelines and procedures.
  6. Unload products from trailers and organize loads according to customer specifications.
  7. Efficiently break down loads with precision and minimal errors, ensuring proper wrapping and alignment as required.
  8. Document any losses, damages, shortages, or overages.
  9. Submit all packaging slips, noting your name and any discrepancies.
  10. Report any damages to equipment or pallets.
  11. Assist in training new team members on the unloading process.
  12. Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  13. Provide suggestions for enhancing operational efficiency.

Required Competencies

  1. Ability to identify products by size, type, color, or code.
  2. Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  3. Basic mathematical skills.
  4. Strong reasoning skills to comprehend and execute instructions.
  5. Capability to work safely in a warehouse setting.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  7. Maintain necessary certifications for operating powered industrial equipment.
  8. Good organizational and time management skills to achieve operational goals.
  9. Familiarity with inventory management software and systems, or the willingness to learn.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements outlined here are representative of what must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While executing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. This position often requires standing, walking, and performing actions such as stooping, kneeling, or crawling. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, climb, or maintain balance. The role necessitates the physical ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally more than 80 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  2. Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with contemporary warehousing practices and procedures, or the ability to learn.
  4. Maintain necessary certifications for operating powered industrial equipment.

Work Environment

This position operates within a warehouse environment that may experience varying temperatures, including freezer, refrigerated, climate-controlled, and non-climate-controlled areas, as well as some outdoor exposure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may encounter moving mechanical parts, vibrations, two-way forklift traffic, and elevated noise levels.
