As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Perform duties related to window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds-keeping, and other related responsibilities.
  • Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and lawn mowers.
  • Record and report all needed repairs, and perform repairs as directed.
  • Ensure the YMCA building and property is secure during shift, and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies as needed.
  • Set up furniture and equipment for events, as required.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, including safety and cleanliness standards, disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Perform light maintenance for buildings and grounds, including yard work and painting.
Requirements
  • Two or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe and efficient use.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 60 days of hire.
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
  • Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
  • Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
