Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is accountable for overseeing and mentoring the manufacturing personnel during their designated shift. This role ensures that production and maintenance timelines are adhered to. In the absence of higher management, the supervisor assumes responsibility for the facility during off-hours and weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises all manufacturing personnel, including maintenance, cleaning, and production staff on the assigned shift.
- Addresses and resolves conflicts among team members as necessary and takes appropriate emergency measures.
- Acts as the senior management representative in the facility during weekends and off shifts when higher supervision is unavailable.
- Educates employees on recognizing hazards and implementing safe work practices.
- Trains production staff on machinery operation and procedural compliance.
- Ensures continuous improvement in both internal and external quality standards.
- Proactively identifies and rectifies conditions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Implements enhancements to workspaces aimed at boosting productivity, improving quality, reducing waste, and minimizing work-in-progress within set guidelines.
- Maintains positive labor relations with employees and union representatives, adhering to contractual rules and regulations.
- Reviews and submits time records and labor distributions.
- Engages in and supports cross-functional team initiatives.
- Performs additional job-related tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associate's Degree in a technical field combined with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in high-volume manufacturing (including welding, machining, scheduling, and directing maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facilities).
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work environment encompasses both office and shop settings. Employees may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call as needed. While executing job responsibilities, employees may encounter mechanical or chemical processes that necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.
