Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Interpreter to join our team at Good Samaritan Medical Center. As a Medical Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers who speak different languages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret medical information between patients and healthcare providers in a variety of settings, including in-person, phone, and video calls.
- Provide cultural and linguistic support to patients and families who are limited English proficient or have other communication needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and have a positive experience.
- Stay up-to-date with medical terminology and procedures to provide accurate and effective interpretation services.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and one or more foreign languages, both oral and written.
- Ability to accurately interpret medical information in consecutive and simultaneous modes.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
