Enterprise Server Engineer Job Description

The Enterprise Server Engineer is a critical role within our organization, responsible for the design, implementation, and support of our server and storage infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical background in operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, acquire, and implement on-premises and cloud compute and storage infrastructure.
  • Monitor, reconfigure, and tune hardware and software for performance improvements and future scalability.
  • Analyze infrastructure to determine and resolve inefficiencies.
  • Manage infrastructure projects and make recommendations on solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in infrastructure technology and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects with minimal downtime.
  • Provide technical project management of various hardware projects.
  • Contribute to design and administration decisions related to enterprise server hardware.
  • Develop and deliver training and mentoring programs for team members.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot enterprise server issues.
  • Ensure systems are running at optimal performance and best practice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT with 2 years of enterprise infrastructure experience.
  • Proficient with Storage Area Networks, iSCSI, and FibreChannel protocols, Hyper-V Clustered environments, Disaster Recovery Environments, Backup and Recovery best practices.
  • Structured cable management experience.
  • Experience working in a datacenter environment is a plus.
  • Experience with QNAP Storage Arrays, Dell Servers, Fortinet infrastructure, iDRAC, and Ubiquiti hardware is preferred.
