Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at The Woman's Hospital of Texas. As a leading provider of women's healthcare, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and promoting breastfeeding support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to provide lactation support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement lactation education programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff on lactation best practices.
  • Conduct lactation assessments and develop individualized plans to support breastfeeding success.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), or Certified Lactation Educator (CLE).
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in lactation support, education, and consultation.
  • Prior experience in prenatal education is preferred.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE certification required within six months of hire.
