Job Description:

At Texas Children's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support to new mothers and their infants.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct and educate new mothers on lactation techniques, including prenatal instruction and post-discharge follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and modify plans of care for patients.
  • Document observations, assessments, and recommendations in patient records.
  • Serve as an expert resource to departments and staff throughout the facility, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures related to human milk collection, storage, transport, and feeding.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or associate's degree with acceptance into a BSN program.
  • 1 year of experience in nursing.
  • RN license by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact.
  • CPR-Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in directly related work assisting with lactation.
  • IBCLC - International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant certification.
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
